WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. - Jurors considering a case involving killings in New York and Florida have spent a second day in deliberations without a verdict.

Narcy Novack of Fort Lauderdale and her brother, Cristobal Veliz of New York City, are accused of paying others for the fatal 2009 beatings of Novack's millionaire husband, Ben Novack Jr., and his mother.

Ben Novack's father built the Fontainebleau hotel in Miami Beach.
The federal jury in White Plains, N.Y., deliberated for about 7 1/2 hours Tuesday, occasionally asking for clarification of the charges and for transcripts of testimony.

Prosecutors say Narcy Novack feared her husband would divorce her. They say she ordered the attacks to secure the multimillion-dollar family estate for herself.

The defense has suggested that Novack's daughter was responsible. She has not been charged.
