MIAMI - The U-Haul driver who took police on a wild 30 minute chase in southwest Miami-Dade County Friday is in jail, according to authorities.

Patrick Darrell Conyers was booked at Miami-Dade County Jail Saturday after he was released from Jackson Memorial Hospital.

A new mugshot released Saturday shows the suspect with what appears to be a swollen eye. Police said Conyers was treated for scrapes and bruises following the chase.

Police said the chase started on the Palmetto Expressway after an officer stopped Conyers to question him about stealing from a tool store. That's when, authorities said, Conyers turned the truck toward the officer, drove off, and hit the officer's hand.
