COCONUT GROVE, Fla. - Police charged a man after four people were stabbed following a Halloween party in Coconut Grove early Thursday.

Anevri Moreira, 21, was charged with one count of attempted second-degree murder.

According to Miami Police, four men were stabbed during a fight, which broke out as the event ended about 3:15 a.m. Thursday. The stabbings happened at an apartment complex off of Grand Avenue and SW 32nd Ave.

Of the four, two men were in critical condition. Kenia Reyes, of Miami Police, said one of the men was in stable condition, and another is believed to only have suffered cuts. Reyes said all of the victims were taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital.

"He's in surgery, so we're waiting for that," said the girlfriend of one victim.

"The doctors still haven't come out and told us anything at all," said the cousin of another victim.

Police said witnesses helped apprehend Moreira. They also have the knife they say was used to commit the crime.

"Because of the amount of police presence, we were not just to recover the knife, but apprehend the person that may have been the one that stabbed four victims," Reyes said.

It's unclear what started the fight.

According to police records, Moreira has been charged with battery, occupied burglary, and resisting an officer with violence in the past.
