Man in custody after police chase

Chase began in Deerfield Beach, ended in Hallandale Beach

HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. - "It was a crazy scene, man," witness Manny Munod said.

The scene Munod is talking about is composed of a bleeding suspect, a banged up car and several BSO Deputies.

"I thought the cops were gonna shoot him or kill him," Munod added.

Deputies had been following this case for months. Friday, it all began as they were tailing suspect Robert Weiner all the way from Deerfield Beach.

When they got to Hallandale Beach, Weiner realized they were following him and turned into a parking lot. Deputies say that's when he rammed a BSO car and tried to flee.

A K9 unit bit Weiner, and then deputies took him into custody.

"I was shocked, real shocked, real shocked," Munod said. "I seen 10 cops come out of nowhere and pull the guns on him."

Weiner, they say, is wanted on a string of charges including fraud and theft for allegedly luring in high-end escorts and not paying them.

He was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital as a precaution to treat the dog bite before he is finally taken to the jail.

"It was crazy, bro... really crazy man," Munod said.
