Man killed inside Miami Beach condominium, authorities say

Victim's identity hasn't been released

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – Miami Beach police are investigating the death of a man who they said was killed Wednesday inside his condominium.

The incident was reported about 1:30 p.m. at 1800 Sunset Harbour Drive.

Miami Beach police spokesman Ernesto Rodriguez said the victim was in his 60s. His identity has not been released because authorities have not been able to notify his family about his death, Rodriguez said.

According to Rodriguez, detectives have made significant progress in their investigation, although no one has been arrested.

Residents at Sunset Harbour South told Local 10 News reporter Hatzel Vela that they were notified that something occurred inside the building through an email.

"They just sent an email saying that there was an incident here, but they're not going to discuss it. That's it," Bruce Backman said.

No other details were immediately released.

Anyone with information about the homicide is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
