MIAMI – A man who was walking his dog Saturday night was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Little Havana.
It happened just before 10 p.m. Saturday as the man crossed Northwest 12th Avenue.
Pedro Gonzalez, 33, was attempting to cross Northwest 12th Avenue when he was struck by a speeding car. The impact was so great that his body became wedged underneath a parked car.
Witnesses told police that the driver of the car got out, looked at the victim, got back into the car and drove off.
Gonzalez was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center, where he later died.
Carmen Montoya told Local 10 News that her only son's dog returned home alone and scared.
Police are looking for a green Chrysler 300 with front-end damage.
Montoya said she is willing to go door by door or car by car to find the hit-and-run driver responsible.
"They are going to find you," Montoya said.
