McDonald's robbery caught on camera

Masked robbers strike at restaurant

OAKLAND PARK, Fla. - The FBI is searching for a group of robbers who held up an Oakland Park McDonald's restaurant Saturday night.

The three robbers, whose faces were covered, held several employees at gunpoint at the restaurant at 1352 Commercial Blvd. at about 11 p.m.

One gunman took an employee from behind the counter at gunpoint to the back of the restaurant. The other two robbers headed for the registers and cleaned them out.

At the time of the robbery, a manager was already in the back of the restaurant with the safe open, counting the cash for the day. One of the robbers went straight for the safe.

The heist took less than five minutes, after which the robbers took their loot and left.

No injuries were reported.

The FBI said it is not yet releasing the amount of money stolen.

Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI at 305-944-9101 or Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477).
