Porch pirate steals vital chemo medication for 14-year-old boy

SUMMERLIN, Nev. - We all get angry when watching video of porch pirates stealing packages from the homes of people who were expecting a shipment.

They're usually harmless... until now.

Recent home security video shows a man stealing two packages from the front door of a Nevada home. No big deal, right?

Unfortunately, inside the packages was expensive chemotherapy medicine for a 14-year-old boy battling a rare form of cancer.

Gage Haynes was diagnosed with Systemic Mastocytosis when he was six months old. The medicine that was delivered Thursday, and stolen four minutes later, helps him get through the neverending chemo he receives to live a normal life.

Because the medicine isn't approved for people under 18, Gage's family needs financial assistance to help pay the $40,000 a month for the medication.

Gage doesn't care about the man who stole the packages, he just wants his medicine.

"It really helps me out a lot. I would feel a lot better, so I can go to school, get good grades, get a job. So just please return it," he told KLAS.
