FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - A woman was injured Tuesday when an Ocean Rescue vehicle hit her on Fort Lauderdale Beach, officials said.

Rinda Mizelle, 49, told investigators she was lying on the beach near a lifeguard stand at 800 Seabreeze Boulevard on Tuesday afternoon when the Ocean Rescue vehicle hit her. Mizelle said lifeguards pulled her from beneath the vehicle.

Mizelle had cuts on her arms and legs. She was taken to Broward General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, and she was later released.

Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue said the Ocean Rescue worker driving the vehicle was put on administrative leave pending an investigation.
