People stuck on carnival ride 70-75 feet in air in Hallandale Beach

No injuries reported

HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. – Four people were trapped on a high-angle ride, about 70 to 75 feet in the air, for about 30 minutes on Thursday, according to officials with the Hallandale Beach Fire Department.

No one was hurt.

Authorities with the Broward Sheriff’s Office were called to assist, and officials used a platform truck that provided a safer rescue than a ladder truck would have, investigators said.

Everyone was brought down to the ground safely.

The ride, which has been described as the swings ride, will not be back in service until a state inspector can clear it -- which is expected to happen on Friday at the earliest.
