Pickup truck driver sought for hit-and-run crash

Ernest Bagnoli suffered non-life threatening injuries

OAKLAND PARK, Fla. - The Broward Sheriff's Office released new evidence Wednesday as deputies searched for a driver involved in a hit-and-run crash that injured a 55-year-old man who was riding his scooter.

The crash happened at East Prospect Road and North Dixie Highway on Sept. 12. Two surveillance cameras captured the dark-colored pickup truck hitting Ernest Bagnoli.

"Broke my femur, thigh bone. I got a hip fracture -- ribs -- and then my face, it's got a plate underneath my eye," said Bagnoli. "They put a big gash across my eye -- can't even close it."

The crash happens in the upper right corner of the first video, and the truck can be seen in the upper left part of the frame in the second video.

"I feel lucky to be alive. I have no brain trauma," said Bagnoli. "I'm a little bit angry but there's nothing I can really do about it."

Anyone with information on the crash is asked to call BSO at 954-202-3131 or Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
