Police: Man admits to fatal stabbing

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - The Fort Lauderdale Police Department says a man admitted to fatally stabbing a woman.

According to authorities, Michael Jerome Mills, 55, of Fort Lauderdale fatally stabbed Teresa Johnson, 46 on Tuesday.

It happened at 704 NW 12th Avenue.

Johnson was transported to Broward General Medical Center, where she died, police said.

Detectives said Mills approached an officer at the scene of the crime and admitted to stabbing Johnson.

Mills was taken into custody and charged with one count of first degree murder.
