MIAMI - The Miami-Dade Police Department released a sketch Wednesday of a man wanted for stabbing a police officer who declined to give him a cigarette and spare change.

The incident happened at 6215 SW 133rd Ave. on the morning of Jan. 6.

After the Miami-Dade corrections officer declined the man's request, the man stabbed him in the neck, police say. He then ran off.

The officer is resting at home.

Anyone with information on the stabbing is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
