Pedestrian struck by Brightline train in North Miami Beach

NORTH MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – Police are investigating after a Brightline train hit a pedestrian in North Miami Beach on Wednesday afternoon.

According to North Miami Beach police, the incident occurred around 5 p.m. at Northeast 163rd Street and 23rd Avenue.

Miami Beach police said drivers should expect traffic delays and avoid the area.

Officials haven’t commented on the pedestrian’s current condition.

Police haven’t said why he or she was on the tracks.
