Florida primary: Broward supervisor of elections reports 16.24% voter turnout

TAMARAC, Fla. — Joe Scott, Broward County’s supervisor of elections, reported that the county’s primary voter turnout was at 16.24% on Tuesday night.

Broward County has 346 precincts, and more than 1.35 million registered voters. As of about 6:45 p.m., 217,520 had cast ballots in Broward.

Nearly 35% voted by mail, about 28% voted early, and about 36.6% voted on Election Day, according to data released by Scott before the polls closed.

The polls opened at 7 a.m. and closed at 7 p.m.
