MIAMI – After endorsing an immigration bill pushing for a skill-based policy on green cards Thursday, President Donald Trump met with six Cuban immigrants at the Oval Office
Sen. Marco Rubio, who has been advocating for the human rights of Cubans and Venezuelans, was with six Brigade 2506 veterans of the Bay of Pigs, a failed 1961 CIA-sponsored paramilitary invasion of Cuba.

Trump also met with the veterans during his campaign visit to Miami's Little Havana last year. He promised to impose the restrictions that President Barack Obama had eased.
"They are true heroes and great Americans," Rubio said in a tweet with the group photo Friday.
Rubio, a son of Cuban migrants who arrived in 1956, is likely to support the plan to cut legal immigration. It's a plan that would have likely not welcomed some of the 1,200 exiles who fought in the Bay of Pigs.
Rubio already doesn't stand behind Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, a program protecting about 750,000 undocumented immigrants who were brought to the United States when they were children.
He is also among the opponents of the DREAM Act. The law would allow undocumented immigrants brought to the U.S. as children to apply for a green card.
Both DACA and the DREAM Act, which Senators Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) and Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) revived, require applicants to pass a background check, pay fees and graduate from high school or serve in the military.
