Program extended for Pit Bulls through 2012

Headline Goes Here

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - In June of 2011 the Humane Society of Broward County offered FREE spaying or neutering for pit bulls ages 8 weeks to 6 months.  The program initially was supposed to last only a month and was then extended through December of 2011.

As a result, 113 pit bulls were sterilized at the Humane Society of Broward County.  Because of the program's success, and donations from the community that helped cover the costs associated with this, the shelter is going to continue the program through 2012.

The goal for the year is to sterilize another 225 pit bulls.  So, if you know someone that has a pit bull that meets the requirements, please have them contact the shelter at 954-463-7729 or to take advantage of the program.

The Humane Society of Broward County is a private, non-profit organization that is not affiliated with any local or national group with a similar name.  The shelter does not receive funding from the government and relies on donations from generous people and business in our community.
