NORTH MIAMI, Fla. - Protesters took to the streets of North Miami under a cloudy sky Monday to demonstrate over last month's police-involved shooting of Charles Kinsey.
The protesters were positioned on the corner of West Dixie Highway and 125th Street.
While demonstrators never intentionally blocked traffic, there were back-ups seen by Sky 10 overhead.
Kinsey, a mental health caregiver, was shot in the leg by North Miami police officer Jonathon Aledda on July 18 while Kinsey attempted to help an autistic man in the street.
Aledda was placed on administrative leave.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating the shooting. The investigation is expected to take between 45 and 60 days.
