South Florida country club kitchen ordered shut

14 violations found by inspector at Parkland Golf & Country Club

PARKLAND, Fla. – State records show a major problem last week inside the kitchen at Parkland Golf and Country Club.

A state inspector noted 14 violations that included a roach issue.

The violations were serious enough that the inspector ordered the kitchen shut.

Fritanga Momotombo, in the Country Mall Plaza near Zoo Miami, was also ordered shut last week by an inspector with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.

Among the 16 violations were a roach issue and issues with the manager on duty.

Below is a list of places and some of their violations.

All the places mentioned were allowed to re-open following an ordered clean up and re-inspection.

"Dead roaches on premises. 1/. 1 dead roach Inside the grill reachin 2/. 4 dead roaches inside Deli station reachin."

"Build-up of food debris, dust or dirt on nonfood-contact surface. Exterior of the line reachins."

"Floor soiled/has accumulation of debris. Under all major equipment."

"Roach activity present as evidenced by approximately 20 live roaches found. 1 live roach inside the kitchen hand wash sink, approximately 19 live roaches on walls, shelves and floors in the kitchen."

"Dead roaches on premises. Approximately 30 on the kitchen floor."

"Employee with no hair restraint while engaging in food preparation."

"Dented/rusted cans present. See stop sale. 2 cans tomato."

"Certified Food Manager or person in charge lacks knowledge of food borne illnesses and symptoms of illness that would prevent an employee from working with food, clean equipment and utensils, and single-service items."

"Employee used hand wash sink as a dump sink. Blood from raw meat inside sink."
