FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - A Sunrise roofer who was struck by lightning last week in Pompano Beach has died.
Broward Sheriff's Office homicide detectives said Robert Elliott, 55, died early Monday morning at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami.
Elliott and his Latite Roofing co-worker, Angel Lopes, 47, were struck by lightning while working on the roof of the Joey Accardi Jeep dealership Thursday.
Both men were taken to Broward Health North.
Lopes was treated and released, but Elliott was transferred to Jackson Memorial Hospital in critical condition. He was pronounced dead three days later.
