Detectives believe this is the man who opened fire in a North Lauderdale neighborhood, narrowly missing three children inside their parents' SUV.

NORTH LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Bullets narrowly missed three children who were inside their parents' sport utility vehicle Monday night in North Lauderdale.

Broward Sheriff's Office detectives are investigating the shooting, which they said was prompted by a dispute between two men that ended in the 7700 block of Southwest 10th Street.

A mother and father were in the front seat of their SUV, while their two toddlers were buckled into their car seats and their 8-year-old son was still getting inside. The rear window of their SUV was shattered by the gunshots.

Derek Stovall, 42, was struck once in the forearm. Bullets also pierced the front door, living room and bedroom walls of a nearby house. Nobody inside was injured.

Detectives Thursday released a photograph of the man they believe is the shooter. He is believed to have gotten away in a green Ford Crown Victoria with chrome rims.

Anyone with information is asked to call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
