FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Wednesday saw a third round of flooding in South Florida because of king tides.
The Intracoastal in Fort Lauderdale spilled onto the streets and threatened homes along the water.
Sky 10 flew above some of the hardest hit areas.
Pumps helped keep some water out, although some of the flooding was deep in certain areas.
Homeowners who live near Cordova Road and Southeast Ninth Street said the water was about ankle deep Wednesday morning, but did not get into their homes.
The supermoon hasn't been this close to Earth in nearly 70 years, and its gravitational pull leads to king tides.
City officials held a meeting Tuesday to discuss what measures are being taken to prevent the widespread flooding.
Experts pointed to climate change and rising sea levels. There's also talk about building a higher sea wall and improving the drainage system.
Communities in Miami Beach and Hollywood are also experiencing similar issues.
