Gabriela Alegria, 42, is accused of practicing medicine without a license.

DORAL, Fla. – A South Florida woman was arrested Thursday after she met with an undercover detective to perform a Botox injection without a medical license, police said.

Gabriela Alegria, 42, faces one count each of practicing medicine without a license and possession of a prescription drug with the intent to sell.

According to a Miami-Dade police report, the detective met with Alegria at a home on Southwest 149th Court to perform the procedure. The report said Alegria was arrested after she used a pair of scissors to cut the seal of the Botox vial and filled the syringe with the fluid.

Police said the detective saw two other vials in plain view.

Alegria, who is not licensed to practice medicine in the state of Florida, was booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
