Strikers end season with 1-1 draw

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - The Fort Lauderdale Strikers closed out their season Saturday with a 1-1 draw against FC Edmonton.

Carlos Salazar scored his fourth goal of the year in the 8th minute, successfully converting a penalty kick. It was his third goal in as many games.

The game turned when Gonzalo De Mujica received a red card in the 65th minute. Nine minutes later, Edmonton substitute Massimo Mirabelli equalized.

The final match was held in front of 4,215 at Lockhart Stadium. The Strikers averaged a club record 4,265 fans each game in 2013.
