Broward Sheriff's Office deputies said the driver, identified as Yunior Pichardo, 34, of Lauderhill, was backing into the loading dock area of the grocery store when Sandra Cunha, 58, stepped into the truck's path.

Deputies said she fell and was run over by the semi's tandem tires.

Cunha was pronounced dead at the scene by Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue officials.

Pichardo was not injured and remained at the scene, authorities said.

Traffic Homicide Investigation Unit detectives don't believe impairment, excessive speed or mechanical malfunction were contributing factors in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
