PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – A Georgia gas station is suspending sales of Sam Adams beer until after the Super Bowl.
The Atlanta Falcons and the New England Patriots will meet in Super Bowl LI next Sunday, but apparently another rivalry is brewing that has more to do with a newspaper columnist's recent remarks.

Viral Chhadua, manager of a Gainesville, Georgia, gas station, came up with the idea after reading a column by Boston Globe columnist Dan Shaugnessy, according to a report on ESPN.com. The headline read, "It's hard to get pumped up about a Super Bowl against…Atlanta."
Shaugnessy wrote that Atlanta is "a town with absolutely zero enthusiasm for professional sports." He went on to say that the city "is a place where people play sports rather than watch them."
Well, Chhadua is out to prove otherwise, so he decided not to sell Sam Adams, which is made in Boston, until after the game.
From now until after the #SuperBowl, some liquor stores in Atlanta are now refusing to sell @SamuelAdamsBeer...

It seems the good folks at Sam Adams saw the sign on Twitter and decided to chime in.

Then Sam Adams had a "drop the mic" moment with its last tweet.
And don't worry Atlanta. We're still drinking @CocaCola . 😉
