Teen crashes car into fence outside Trump's Mar-a-Lago

Law enforcement on high security during Trump's weekend in Palm Beach

PALM BEACH, Fla. – A teenager was speeding when he drove a Dodge Charger past a traffic post on South Ocean Boulevard and crashed into a fence outside of President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate, according to a Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office report on Saturday.

Deputies said the crash happened before Trump's arrived about 6 p.m. The teen faced a citation for reckless driving, according to PBSO spokesperson Therese Barbera.

While in the custody of the department's violent crimes division, detectives took him to the JFK North/West Palm Behavioral Health center in West Palm Beach for a mental health evaluation.

On Saturday at the White House, the Secret Service detained an intruder who hopped over bike-rack barrier along the north fence of the White House.

The two incidents come after Jonathan Tuan-Anh Tran, 26, climbed over the White House fence March 10 and was able to roam on the grounds for about 17 minutes. Authorities said Tran, who has a history of mental illness, said, "I am a friend of the president. I have an appointment."
