Detectives said the man left the jewelry counter three times before putting a $6,500 necklace with a religious pendant on his neck.
But instead of paying for the necklace, the thief ran off, getting back into the waiting SUV.
The thief was last seen wearing a black shirt, black shorts and black sneakers that have red coloring on the heels.
Anyone with information about his identity is asked to call Detective Eric Versteeg at 954-202-3131 or Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS. A reward of up to $3,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest and conviction.
