Two shot at Tri-Rail train station in Miami-Dade

Security guard shot while trying to remove passenger

MIAMI-DADE, Fla. – Two people were shot at a Tri-Rail commuter rail station in northwest Miami-Dade, Thursday, police said.

A security officer was shot, as he tried to remove a passenger from a Tri-Rail train at the the Golden Glades Station, spokeswoman Bonnie Arnold said. The passenger was also shot.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue reported the two people shot were airlifted from Northwest Seventh Avenue and 160th Street near Miami Gardens and taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital.

The Golden Glades Station is the northernmost Tri-Rail station in Miami-Dade, and it connects to the intercity bus service at the Greyhound bus station.
