VIDEO: Violent 'Knockout Game' punch leaves man severely injured

ROSENBERG, Texas – Police in Texas are searching for a man they say was caught on video knocking out an unsuspecting victim from behind as part of the dangerous "Knockout Game."

KTRK reports Alejandro Maldonado, 18, is wanted for a aggravated assault after surveillance camera footage showed him attacking the 30-year-old man in Rosenberg, a city southwest of Houston.

After the punch, the victim is seen laying on the street, seemingly unconscious while Maldonado struts away.

The victim, who was unknown to Maldonado, was severely injured in the attack and spent multiple days in the hospital.

Maldonado may have been participating in the "Knockout Game," a violent game in which one person, or a group of people, attempt to knock someone out with one punch.

Police had spoken with Maldonado, who originally had planned to turn himself into authorities.  However, the teen has yet to appear and now police hope the release of the video will force Maldonado to come in.
