FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - A viewing for Broward Sheriff's Office Deputy Christopher Schaub, who died as a result of his injuries in a motorcycle crash last week, was held in Pompano Beach.

The viewing for Schaub was held at the First Baptist Church at 138 NE 1st Street in Pompano Beach.

Throughout the afternoon, law enforcement officers, many on motorcycles, arrived at the church to pay their respects to the 22-year veteran of BSO.

"Very somber day for everybody in the BSO family. We've lost one of our brothers," said BSO Sgt. Michael DeVita. "Just a fun guy, good guy. Good person to work with."

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Calvary Chapel of Fort Lauderdale, 2401 W. Cypress Creek Rd. in Fort Lauderdale.

BSO posted an obituary for Schaub on Friday.
