FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – An emergency temporary service interruption and precautionary boil water notice were issued Friday as crews worked to repair a water main break near Gateway Theater.
The westbound lanes of Sunrise Boulevard at NE 20 Avenue were closed, but two have since reopened.
The boil water notice is still in effect for:
West: NE 17th Way
South: NE 9th Street and NE 9th Place
East: Middle River
North: NE 11th Street
Public work crews said they were able to isolate the break and there is now an excavation underway.
Crews will be working overnight to restore water service and make the roadway repairs.
All traffic continues being diverted to adjacent roadways.
City officials said motorists should expect delays in the area.
