Water main break floods Hallandale Beach

Water murky, but no boil water order issued

HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. – Parts of Hallandale Beach were flooded Tuesday morning after a water main break.

City officials say that at around 8:15 a.m., crews working on the Northeast Quadrant Drainage Project struck a line at NE 12th Avenue and NE 7th Street.

The break caused a loss of pressure throughout the city.

Through an inter-local agreement, the city opened a connection with the City of North Miami to restore some pressure.

Repairs were made and everything seems to be back to normal.

Although the water from the tap appears murky, workers say it should clear up later today. At last check, no boil water order had been issued.
