Baker continued to play the popular game even after a knife punctured his body.

KPTV reports it all happened early Monday morning when Baker was out attempting to catch the mythical creatures.

Baker was approached by a man who he thought was also playing the game that has been sweeping the country.

"I saw him go by and asked if he was playing Pokémon Go. He was like 'what?' I guess he wanted to battle because he came up at me with a knife," Baker told KPTV.

The unidentified man stabbed Baker in the shoulder. But instead of immediately seeking help, Baker instead continued to play the game.

"Its been too long, too long. Gotta be the first one to catch them all," said Baker.

Once Baker did seek medical attention, he received eight stitches to the shoulder.
