A Christmas gift of horse manure intended for U.S. Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin was found near his home Saturday, prompting the Los Angeles Police Department to investigate with a bomb squad.
Authorities say the unopened box was gift wrapped and marked as being from "the American people." When the LAPD's bomb squad opened the box, they discovered it was nothing more than a pile of horse manure.

Police said the Secret Service would be taking over the investigation. Requests for comment from the Secret Service and Treasury Department by The Associated Press have reportedly gone unanswered.
