A tiger cub was sedated and sent via express mail in Mexico, officials told The Associated Press.

Mexican officials found a tiger cub in a plastic container Wednesday -- sedated and sent via express mail, The Associated Press reported.

A dog sniffing out contraband found the baby animal, which was mailed in Jalisco and addressed to Queretaro, the AP reported.

The cub was dehydrated but otherwise OK, the AP reported.

It was seized because mailing an animal is mistreatment, even if it has the proper papers, the AP reported.
