WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – A South Florida teenager accused of posing as a doctor was arrested Wednesday.
Malachi Love-Robinson, 18, was arrested by the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office on a charge of practicing medicine without a license.
According to the PBSO's Facebook page, Love-Robinson opened a medical office at 4700 N. Congress Ave., Suite 303, and was presenting himself as a certified doctor.
The PBSO said deputies and Florida Department of Health officials conducted an undercover operation at Love-Robinson's office. Authorities said Love-Robinson performed a physical examination on and offered medical advice to an undercover agent.
Love-Robinson had previously been investigated and cited by the Department of Health for practicing medicine without a license in October 2015. He even had a professional website for his New Birth New Life Medical Center & Urgent Care.
According to WPBF, the ABC affiliate in Palm Beach County, Love-Robinson was the teen caught in a woman's examination room at St. Mary's Medical Center last year. The report alleged that Robinson dressed in a St. Mary's lab coat and wore a stethoscope as he roamed the halls of the hospital for more than a month.
Love-Robinson told WPBF that he was shadowing some physicians at the hospital, which declined to press charges.
"I didn't operate," he told WPBF. "I didn't reach in someone's uterus. You know, I didn't snatch out a baby. I didn't do any of that."
Love-Robinson said he still intends to pursue his dream of becoming a doctor.
"I'm not stopping," he told WPBF.
Love-Robinson was being held at a Palm Beach County jail on $6,000 bond.
