Woman injured when car crashes into northwest Miami-Dade home

78-year-old suffers injuries to arm, head

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A 78-year-old woman was injured Tuesday when a car crashed into her northwest Miami-Dade home.

Relatives said the driver was going east on Northwest 103rd Street and 35th Avenue when he lost control, jumped a median and plowed into the house. 

The woman sitting on a couch watching TV when the car slammed into her home.

Relatives said she was taken to a hospital with injuries to her arm and head.

The car was towed from the home. It's unclear whether the driver will face any charges.

The family said they are trying to pick up some belongings because they don't think the woman will be able to stay at the home after she's released from the hospital. 

The driver said he dropped something in the car and was reaching for it when he lost control of his vehicle, the victim's family said.
