MIAMI - A 35-year-old woman was killed Friday morning after she was run over by a car driven by her boyfriend, police say.

According to investigators, the couple, who had been dating for six months, got into a fight over the woman's continued use of cocaine, despite promising to quit.

Detectives say the woman was holding onto her boyfriend's car by the driver's side when he pulled away on S.W. 12th Street. She lost her grip, slipped, hit her head on the car's side step and got run over by the back tires.

When the man realized what happened, police say he quickly turned around, picked up the unconscious woman up and put her in the back seat.

Detectives say he then drove around the corner up S.W. 2nd Ave to Miami Fire Rescue Station #4 where asked for help. The woman was rushed to the Ryder Trauma where she died.

The man is charged with reckless driving and possession of cocaine.
