Raúl Castro was hospitalized on Tuesday in Cuba, according to Local 10 News Analyst Andy Gomez, the former director of the University of Miami’s Institute for Cuban Studies.

Sept. 1: Raul Castro hospitalized, sources say
Reliable sources inside Cuba have informed me this afternoon that Raul Castro has been hospitalized. We need to be careful and not to over speculate what might happen until further notice.
Dr. Andy S. Gomez is Local 10’s Cuba Analyst. Gomez is considered one of the leading scholars on Cuba. He worked in higher education for 32 years before retiring from the University of Miami in 2012.
