Her letter:

Gladys Zimmerman's letter was written to coincide with the one-year anniversary of her son's April 11, 2012, arrest. He's accused of killing Martin, who was unarmed, in February 2012.

The letter was written in Spanish and translated by her son, Robert Zimmerman. He released it on his Twitter account.

Gladys Zimmerman says the day will "forever be remembered by the Zimmerman family as the day the justice system failed us as Americans." She describes what she calls a "false narrative" that was developed as the heavily publicized case unfolded.
