CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – This is a story that you're going to want to hear from the horse's mouth.

Or the pony's.

The Coral Springs Police Department was recently startled to receive a call from residents claiming that a not-so-menacing pony was on the loose in the Whispering Woods neighborhood of the city.

Because, of course, the means streets of northern Broward County are no place for a pony, especially after dark, the police department put out an alert to be on the lookout for the wayward miniature horse.

As luck would have it, Officer Nicky Rojas was first on the scene.

After a brief pursuit, Rojas was able to catch up to the rebellious little pony and return it from where it came... or trotted.

It ended up being a miracle that the unnamed pony was not hurt as it was discovered that the four-legged cutie is blind and has a tendency to wander aimlessly around the neighborhood.

So rest easy, Coral Springs.  All your ponies are exactly where they should be.
