Kitten gets paw stuck in Lauderdale Lakes sewer grate

Kitten expected to be fine

LAUDERDALE LAKES, Fla. – A stray kitten is doing well after getting its paw stuck in a sewer grate Thursday morning in Lauderdale Lakes.

Firefighters from the Broward Sheriff's Office were unable to pull the kitten's left paw from the sewer cleanout access panel, so they were forced to take the kitten and panel with them to an animal hospital.

A veterinarian at the VCA Imperial Point Animal Hospital told Local 10 News reporter Terrell Forney that the kitten was given medication and is expected to be OK.

The kitten has been nicknamed Captain.
