Euthanasia drug cause for dog food recall

MIAMI – A dog food is being recalled after samples tested positive for a euthanasia drug.

Party Animal is recalling two lots of its Cocolicious dog food after a customer had the product tested.

During the test, the drug pentobarbital was found in the sample.

Pentobarbital is a barbiturate that can be used to induce death in high doses.

The following Party Animal dog foods have been recalled:

  • 13-ounce cans of Cocolicious Beef & Turkey dog food (Lot #0136E15204 04, best by July 2019)
  • Cocolicious Chicken & Beef dog food (Lot #0134E15 237 13, best by August 2019)

Customers who have already purchased the products should return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
