MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Celo, a 12-year-old gold Labrador, was rescued from a canal Sunday afternoon, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said.
A good Samaritan noticed Celo swimming in the canal near Southwest Eighth Street and Southwest 87th Avenue and called 911.

After attempting to lure the dog to shore, firefighter Robert Yngerto went into the canal and brought the dog to shore.
With the help of Miami-Dade County Animal Services, Celo was reunited with its owner, Avaro Castro.
