FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Fort Lauderdale Strikers kept their five game unbeaten streak alive after drawing FC Edmonton 1-1 on Sunday.

Lance Laing gave Edmonton the lead off a free kick in the 37th minute. The goal ended Richard Sanchez's shutout streak of 353 minutes, just six minutes short of the league record, according to NASL.com.

The free kick also led to the ejections of head coach Günter Kronsteiner, assistant coach Ricardo Lopes, and forward Walter Restrepo.

Yaikel Pérez tied the game in the 58th minute.

The draw keeps the Strikers tied for second place.

The Strikers next host the New York Cosmos on Saturday, September 21, at Lockhart Stadium.
