MIAMI – Marlins outfielder Christian Yelich was awarded a Gold Glove Award on Tuesday.
Yelich, 22, becomes the first Marlins outfielder to ever receive the honor.

He is the first Marlins player to win the award since Mark Beuherle won for pitcher in 2012.
The award is determined by votes from each NL manager and up to six coaches on his staff.
The Marlins had three finalists for the award.
Adeiny Hechavarria (shortstop) and Giancarlo Stanton (right field) both came up short.
