The contract is for 5-years and $2.6 million and involves all 18 of the Golden Panthers' Division I athletic programs.

FIU has been outfitted by adidas since 2005 and the school's new deal more than doubles its previous agreement with adidas.

"We are pleased to announce that the FIU Athletic Department will be outfitted in adidas for the next five years," FIU Executive Director of Sports & Entertainment Pete Garcia said. "adidas is a brand that is recognized globally. Their commitment and level investment in the FIU Athletic Department has been tremendous and we look forward to many more years of success with them."

The news comes as reports say that the University of Miami will be leaving Nike to join the adidas family. Miami is expected to announce their new apparel affiliation this week.
