Ross reached out to season-ticket holders

Owner outlines plans for new coaching hire

DAVIE, Fla. – Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross has started the process of finding the team's next head coach.

Ross sent a letter to season ticket holders that was shared by NFL.com's Ian Rapoport.

The letter outlined the process of finding the next coach.

Ross wrote, "We are going to conduct a thorough process led by Mike Tannenbaum to select our head coach that will not be constrained by convention in our approach.  This search will be thorough and we will take it wherever we need to go.  I appreciate everything Dan Campbell has done this season and he has earned the opportunity to be considered for head coach.  We've also identified several promising candidates and will begin work immediately."

The Dolphins (5-10) close out their season Sunday against the New England Patriots.
