Dan Campbell won't return to Dolphins, according to report

Interim Dolphins coach led team to 5-7 record

DAVIE, Fla. – Dan Campbell won't be back with the Miami Dolphins next season, according to a report by NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport.

According to the report, Campbell received his release from the franchise Monday and is looking for opportunities elsewhere.

Campbell was Miami's interim coach after Joe Philbin was fired in October. He was interviewed for the full-time job, but the Dolphins decided to hire Chicago Bears offensive coordinator Adam Gase instead.

Under Campbell, the Dolphins went 5-7, but it wasn't enough to win him the job permanently.

The Dolphins have also agreed to a deal with Vance Joseph to be their defensive coordinator.

Joseph was previously an assistant with the Bengals.
